In Book One of the Mary Hardy Series we meet Mary Hardy, the widow of a murdered Texas Ranger, as she teams up with Texas Ranger Jack Reynolds. 

Jack is on the trail of the Moss Gang after they murder everyone on a stagecoach. Hardy insists he take her along, and she is instrumental in finding and killing Moss in a gun battle.

Jack takes Hardy to Austin and introduces her to Texas Ranger Captain McAnelly where she is hired as the first female Texas Ranger. 

She then sets off with Jack on a series of adventures while a romance blooms between them. As circumstances threaten to drive them apart they begin to wonder if they can manage both their personal lives and their professional jobs as Texas Rangers.

In the second book of the Mary Hardy Series, Mary Hardy, the first female Texas Ranger, and her Ranger husband Jack, are sent into the Oklahoma Territory to rescue and arrest the Murtog gang following a bank robbery and murder. The Rangers face several hardships due to a blizzard, attacks by the outlaws, as well as renegade Indians. However, they receive unexpected assistance from three Indian women who were held captive in the outlaw camp.

During their escape from the Oklahoma Territory, the Rangers are engaged in a bloody running gun battle that ends in a showdown at Medicine Mound. The avenging outlaws follow them home where the Rangers devise risky plan for the pending street battle with the gang. Should the plan fail their hometown will be under siege. It’s a desperate gamble, but the only option available to the Texas Rangers.

In the third book in the Mary Hardy Series, Jack Reynolds and four Texas Rangers disappear somewhere in the Davis Mountains. Hardy is sent to investigate their disappearance and learn if they are alive or dead. She devises a unique disguise to infiltrate the small town of Balmorhea. She must learn the names of the ringleaders and the location of the missing men.

But doing so will put her in extreme danger. Should her true identity become known, she will be killed or worse. The men involved are unscrupulous killers, and she has only two things going for her - her wits and her weapons.

In the fourth book in the Mary Hardy Series, Mary learns of Cora Beth McAfee, a psychopathic killer who left St. Louis traveling down the Mississippi River, leaving a string of dead bodies at every port. After escaping from police in New Orleans Cora heads to Texas.

Hardy is ordered to apprehend her. The trail of Cora leads Hardy into the Big Thicket where life is cheap and the odds of escaping alive are small. 

Hardy must match wits with the devious Cora and overcome the odds of the most unforgiving terrain in east Texas. Cora has the advantage knowing Hardy is behind her and sets up ambushes along the trail.

To survive, Hardy must outmaneuver Cora and get the advantage, but in the unmapped Big Thicket consisting of wild rivers, swamps, quicksand, insects, snakes, alligators, as well as a crazy woman with a rifle, doing so will be a life-threatening challenge.
